Oklahoma Technology Standards

I've posted some links for Oklahoma Technology Standards:

  1. https://www.iste.org/standards/for-educators
  2. http://sde.ok.gov/sde/oklahoma-academic-standards
  3. https://www.iste.org/standards
  • I have checked these and they do not tell a teacher how to educate their class.
  • They are free and incorporate all levels of education!!

These technology standards the following subjects:
  • Math
  • Science
  • Social Studies/ History
  • English
  • Technical Subjects
These standards are meant to engage students and encourage them to do more than most.

  1. The Oklahoma Technology Standards seem to be adequate to the National except they are not tested. There is no assessment test required upon graduation. I wonder how we can know which teaching method was best for students. Do you think this is important for the age you are geared to teach?

  2. I do want to teach 4th through 8th grade. I think that it is important for a test to be administered. Because of technology, we are able to quickly find polls for each age group and test it for ourselves.

  3. I like the layout of your post (good use of VDT), and I agree they are a little confusing and should be tested. It is hard to tell what the tone of your post is. Besides testing, if something else is missing then what do you think they should include? Do you think they should give more specifics on ways to integrate technology or should they leave it up to the teachers? Do you like that they are include all age groups or do you think there should be different ones for different ages?
