Will Technology Benefit or Damage Students in the Classroom?



There are those who say, "Technology will do more harm than good."
Technology can:
  1. Be a distraction.😵
  2. Cost money to be constantly updating.💲
  3. Cause too much dependence.❓
  4. Damage a student's daily encounter with others.👤
  5. Make it easier for students to cheat.💬

If a teacher has the resources and skill to use new technology in the classroom, then they should. The way students interact is different with every classroom. Setting a time with technology and without technology is important. Technology has many benefits, and many of them should be used. Avoiding the probable issues will be difficult, but it comes with being a great teacher."

  1. I agree - there are always challenges in anything including being a teacher and using technology. Many of the issues presented in the articles against technology are good to consider, but I think can be easily overcome most of the time. I appreciated that you included other articles about how to solve some technology problems :)

  2. Technology has impacted almost every area of our lives and especially education. Now instead of books we have tablets, phones and all sorts of devices. Since we cannot go against technology, as teachers we must learn to adapt it to our needs. You did a great job at that, thanks.
